Sheri Barrientes gained her wings peacefully in her sleep on July 20th, 2016. She was born at Lancaster General Hospital to Elmer and Ruth Weitkamp of Leola, PA. Sheri entered this world as a ray of sunshine and lit it up with her smile. She graduated from WIlliamsport High school and then fulfilled her dreams of leaving home entering into a lifetime of adventure. Her journey led her to the love of her life, Simon whom she was married to for 34 blessed years. The two would find home in Oklahoma City where she would spend the rest of her days here on earth, creating a legacy and lasting memories any heart would find joy to hold. She gave birth to her three daughters, Marcelina Lydia, Felicia Britni, and Samantha Coryn. After a joyous stent of staying at home, she would return to college where she earned her Associate's degree in Applied Science graduating valedictorian of her class. She went on to work for Eateries Inc., then later would find home at Integris Medical Center as a Senior Business Analyst in the IT department. In 2010, she was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer. Though this heart breaking diagnosis shook her, she made the decision to fight and live every day to the fullest. Her dreams were fulfilled when she was able to meet her grandchildren, a wish she made known and held close to her heart. She retired from her job in January of 2014, and was able to spend the rest of her days surrounded by her loving family and friends creating lasting memories for them all to cherish. Sheri was preceded in death by her father Elmer Weitkamp, mother Ruth Fink, and brother Jerrell Weitkamp. She is survived by her loving husband Simon Barrientes; her daughters Marcelina Sutton, Felicia Bumgarner, and Samantha Reeder; her brother Gregory Weitkamp of Leola, PA; her stepfather James Fink; her beloved grandchildren Joaquin Cruz, Emilio Ramon, Jameson Anthony, Mateo Simon, Simon Royal, Lorelei Nicole, and Javier Reign; and her many loving nieces and nephews spanning all over the states, but never far from her heart. Sheri had a laugh that could fill any room with cheer. Her story is truly a testament to the legacy she left behind. In her moments of immense pain, she always kept her faith of the peaceful days to come. She was a woman of humble beginnings, but you wouldn't know if by what she gave the world each day. She gave fairness, trust, and a non judgemental approach to all she met. She loved each person who entered her life as an individual, and gave each a listening ear and an open mind. She believed no one person deserved to be judged or treated unfairly. She encompassed the life of an angel, and though it has broken the hearts of those who held her close, they find comfort in knowing she is at peace in heaven, dancing, singing, and planning extensively the moments in which they will meet again.
