Shirlene Theresa Glenn

Shirlene Overton Glenn, age 79, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma entered Heaven's gates to once again be in the arms of her one-true-love on Sunday, February 18, 2018. Born March 2, 1938 in Perry, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Wayne and Blanche Overton. At the age of 13, fate had a plan, and Shirlene fell in love at first sight under the neon lights of the local roller rink with a young John E. Glenn. The two dated, and later married on August 8, 1959. Starting a family was important to John and Shirlene. Unfortunately, their first son was called to heaven shortly after birth. However, the lord later blessed them with three healthy children. She was an incredible mother, homemaker, and handy-woman, always providing love and laughter to those around her. She is survived by her three children: Nancy Ballard, Chris Glenn and his wife Susan, and Theresa Shelley and her husband John; five grandchildren, Stacy Sanford and husband Chris, Kacy Benson and husband Kevin, Amber Shelley, Christopher Shelley, and Mia Glenn. She was proceeded in death by her parents, two brothers, infant son, and her husband John. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 o'clock in the morning on Saturday, the 24th of February at St. John's Catholic Church in Edmond, Oklahoma under the direction of Smith and Kernke. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in Shirlene's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
