On the evening of October 17, 2024, Spencer Smith set off for his final ride, doing what he loved most-cruising home on his Harley under a full moon.
Born and raised in Oklahoma, Spencer's roots ran deep in the Sooner State. He married the love of his life, Aubri in Oklahoma City. They welcomed their three cherished children-Dozier, Logan, and Cashlin.
His loyalty, kindness, and unwavering support made him someone people counted on, whether they'd known him for decades or met him only once. In fact, his phone was a testament to his ability to make lasting impressions-packed with contacts ranging from lifelong friends to people he'd connected with during a 15-minute conversation. It wasn't unusual for Spencer to pick up the phone and call one of those numbers out of the blue, just to check in, remembering every detail of their brief encounter.
Spencer's knack for mechanics began when he was just ten, eager to get his hands dirty fixing anything he could. That early passion shaped a varied and adventurous career, where he worked as a bulldozer operator, cable technician, welder, and even drove long-haul trucks across the country. Whether on the job or at play, Spencer approached everything with the same energy and passion, bringing his love of problem-solving to both work and his hobbies.
Spencer is survived by his beloved wife, Aubri; his children, Dozier, Logan, and Cashlin; his parents, Dr. Richard and Jan Smith of Oklahoma City; his brother Preston and wife Melissa Smith of Edmond; his brother Martin and wife Casey Smith; of Katy, TX; nephews Clay, Tanner, Samuel; and niece Oliva. As well as extended family members too numerous to list, all of whom were part of his wide and loving circle. The outpouring of support and love that his family has received in the wake of his passing has been a testament to the many lives Spencer touched.
His legacy of generosity, humor, and compassion will continue to live on in all who knew him.
Though the shock of his loss weighs heavy on our hearts, we find solace knowing Spencer would be grinning, pleased to know how many people cared for him. His parting gift to us all: a reminder to cherish every connection, every conversation, and always keep riding forward with a smile.
All are welcome to Spencer's Celebration of Life at 12:00pm Saturday, October 26th at Harn Homestead - 1721 N. Lincoln Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73105.
