Sr. Mary Mark Mcguire

Sister Mary Mark McGuire CST died February 1, 2013 at Grace Living Center, Bethany. Daughter of Harry James and Elizabeth J. Cole McGuire, Mary Elizabeth McGuire was born October 6, 1937 in Oklahoma City. She attended Bishop John Carroll Elementary School, and graduated from Bishop McGuinness High School in 1956. She entered the convent of the Carmelite Sisters of St. Therese July 16, 1956, and made her first vows January 25, 1958. Sister Mary Mark completed her degree in Education at University of Central Oklahoma, Edmond. She was a gifted and beloved teacher of primary school children for 33 years: Villa Teresa, St. Charles Borromeo and St. Philip Neri in Oklahoma City, St. Patrick's in Sand Springs, and parish schools in Hermosa Beach and Riverside in southern California. Her last mission was as a sign of God's love among us in the nursing care facilities where she lived her final years. Sister Mary Mark was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sister Clara Ann Muglia of New Jersey, brothers James of Pawhuska, Ernest of Arlington, Texas and Patrick of Oklahoma City, dear nieces and nephews, and her community of Carmelite Sisters at Villa Teresa. A Wake service will be at 7 pm Monday February 4, 2013 and Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am Tuesday February 5, 2013, both at Our Lady's Cathedral, N.W. 32nd and Lake, her home parish. Interment at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery, 7500 West Britton Road.
