Stephen Farris Shanbour

Stephen Farris Shanbour was born on June 20, 1949 in Fort Madison, Iowa to Farris and Anna-bell Rashid Shanbour. He passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2013. At the age of six years old, Steve moved with his parents to Oklahoma City, where he resided until his departure. Steve graduated from Put¬man City High School in 1967. He received his Bach¬elor's degree from the Uni¬versity of Oklahoma in 1972, his law degree from Oklaho¬ma City University in 1978, and was near completion of his Bachelor's degree in Lay Pastoral and Theological Ministries from Neumann University and The Archdi¬ocese of Oklahoma in 2014. Steve has been a long time member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Oklahoma City, the Catholic Cursillo, the Knights of Columbus, the Supreme Court of the United States, and the Texas State Bar. He has also been a member of the Depart¬ment of Corrections Board of volunteers and prisoner's rights and has worked with the Redemption Method¬ist Church in Prison Minis¬tries. Steve is preceded in death by his father Farris S. Shanbour. He is survived by his mother, Annabell Shan¬bour, his brother and sister in law, Gregory and Stepha¬nie Shanbour, his niece, No¬elle Shanbour Williams and her husband, Tyler, and his two nephews Gregory and Spencer Shanbour. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am, Saturday Novem¬ber 16, 2013 at Christ the King Catholic Church, cele¬brated with Reverend Rich¬ard D. Stansbury. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Special thanks are giv¬en to Dr. Philip Adamson, the staff at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital, and Cross¬roads Hospice for their com¬passionate care. Donations can be made to the Build¬ing Fund at Christ the King Catholic Church, 8005 Dor¬set Dr., Oklahoma City, OK 73120, or to charity of your choice.
