Stephen Robert Thompson, 26 years old, passed away on Monday, May 17, 2021.Stephen was born August 16, 1994 at Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City to Steve and Robin Thompson. Stephen was a wonderful son and a great brother to his sister, Summer Anne Thompson. Growing up, he loved spending time with his Grandad and Nana, Jim and Beverly Thompson, swimming at their pool, going out to eat, and visiting hotel sites his Grandad was building. Stephen was proud that his Grandad wrote his name and his sister's name in the concrete in front of La Quinta. Stephen was proud to work at the hotels starting at age 15. Stephen also loved going to Tulsa to spend time with his Papa and Mimi, Tommy and Loretta Thompson, and playing games with his cousins Kenny, Tommy, Madeline, and Alyx Thompson.Stephen loved spending time with both Thompson families in OKC and Tulsa. Stephen is survived on his Mother's side by Grandmother Beverly Thompson, Uncles Jim and John Thompson (wife Cindy), Cousins Kaci Buntemeyer and Eryn Thompson, Johnny Richard (wife Mindy) and Justin Thompson, Jenna (husband Lovelace Akuma), and 5 second cousins. On his Father's side, Grandfather Tommy Thompson, Grandmother Loretta Thompson, Uncles Ken and Alan Thompson (wife Patti), Aunts Randa and Mary Thompson, and Cousins Kenny, Tommy, Madeline, and Alyx Thompson. He loved his faithful companion dog named Emi.Stephen was brave, had a warm heart, great sense of humor, big smile, and laugh. He would often say "no worries". One of his favorite songs was "Don't Worry, Be Happy". He lived life to the fullest and encouraged others to do the same. As a child, he loved boy scouts, big birthday parties, swimming, and playing video games with his friends, cousins, and Dad. He did a variety of sports including soccer, football, wrestling, baseball, tennis, and golf. He enjoyed traveling with friends and family including trips to Washington D.C., New York, Mexico and many ski trips. On a number of Caribbean trips, he loved to sail, parasail, and jet ski. He most loved going to Del Mar, California, almost every summer with his family to visit his Aunt Randa where he loved to boogie board and attempted to surf. Stephen attended Heritage Hall 15 years as a "lifer". Stephen attended the University of Oklahoma and was a member of Delta Upsilon Fraternity. He passed from complications of Type 1 Diabetes. He was loved and will be missed dearly by his family and friends. May God bless his eternal precious soul. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday May 25, 2021 at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church (2717 W. Hefner Road, OKC, OK 73120). Immediately following the service the family will greet friends at the church before leaving for a private family committal.
