Steven Ronald Nielsen

Steven R. Nielsen, 49, born on June 13, 1971 in Rush City, Minnesota, the son of Ron and Kathie Nielsen passed away on January 27, 2021. Steven was a loving and supportive husband, father, and friend. He lived in Oklahoma City with his wife, Laurie Fong to whom he was married for 25 years. They have two children, Nicholas George Nielsen who is 22 years of age and Megan Nicole Nielsen who is 19 years of age. Steven never met a stranger. He was an extremely social individual and more than anything he loved meeting, helping and talking to people. There was nothing that couldn't be done or a need that couldn't be met. He worked hard to make people happy in everything he did and said. He could always light up a room with his laugh and smile. Steven worked for Renewal by Anderson as a Project Consultant for the last 6 years. He loved his co-workers and he always loved being part of a team. He was always involved in his children's activities and coached them at young ages. Family meant everything to him. He loved spending time with his children and their friends, as well as his friends, and everyone was "family." Steven's motto was always: "The more the merrier." Steven is survived by his wife, Laurie Fong and children, Nicholas and Megan Nielsen; his parents, Ron and Kathie Nielsen; sister and brother in law, Nathan and Kim Tuft; Brother and sister in law, Peter and Linda Nielsen; sister, Michelle Carl; brother in law, Michael Fong; and sister in law and brother in law, Vandon and Candace Hottle. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, February 1, 2021 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Interment will take place at the Resurrection Memorial Cemetery. Viewing is open to friends and family at Smith & Kernke at 14624 N. May Avenue on Sunday, January 31, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The service will also be available via live stream at ckokc.org.
