Steven Randolph Steakley, 71, passed away peacefully at his home on September 16, 2017, surrounded by his family. Born to Helen June Steakley and John L. Steakley, Jr. on June 18, 1946 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He is survived by his two children, Sarah Pruellage (William) and Lauren Brollier (Tucker); four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Emma, William ("Ford") Pruellage, and John ("Jack") Brollier. He is pre-deceased by the love of his life, Elizabeth Ann Steakley, who he was married to for 43 years. Steve graduated with a BS from the University of Oklahoma and was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity; he received a Juris Doctorate from Oklahoma City University. Steve served his country in the Army as a First Lieutenant stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Steve was a certified public accountant who practiced accounting as a Partner with Byers & Steakley and then a Partner with Coopers & Lybrand before founding Steakley & Gilbert, which he led for three decades. Steve was a sports enthusiast and an avid golfer. He was a member of the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club. Steve served as a director of the former Oklahoma City 89ers baseball club. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church.
