Suzanne Peyton Coburn

Suzanne Peyton Coburn, a gracious southern belle, was born October 17, 1922 in Shreveport, La. She attended Centenary College, later marrying John William Coburn in 1945. In 1955, they established a home in Oklahoma City, where she was active in the junior League and in local theater groups. Suzanne appeared in plays at the Mummers and the Lyric, as well as local and national television commercials. She enjoyed traveling to New York to see the shows and her Broadway friends. In 1977 she founded Suzanne's Linen Closet, a place full of beautiful things and the customers she loved. More than the theater, Suzanne loved her family. She was proceeded in death by her parents Clinton and Susiebell Peyton a sister Shirley Peyton and husband John "Bill" Coburn. She is survived by three children: Suzanne Flynn, Catherine Langford, Marjorie Garrett, as well as nine grandchildren: Ralph Liddell, Suzanne Sharp, Katie Fuller, Peyton Langford, Clinton Langford, Clare Langford, Mary Catherine Langford, Patrick Garrett and Billy Garrett and eleven great grand children. In addition, she is survived by her two sisters Ada Frances Peyton and Mary Clare Taliferro. The family thanks Suzanne's care givers Liz Loffland and Latrell Lands of Carter Hospice, and Nancy Montgomery of Absolute Senior Care. A special thanks to Skip Davenport, whose caring friendship contributed so much to Suzanne, and to Father Bright, who offered guidance and support to Suzanne and her family. The Order for the Burial of the Dead will be held on Tuesday, September 13th at 2pm at All Souls' Episcopal Church, In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to All Souls' Episcopal Church
