Suzanne Yowell Schneider, born January 22, 1933, in Shawnee, OK, passed peacefully into God's hands March 18, 2018. Suzanne attended OKC public schools, graduating from Classen High School in 1951. She earned a bachelor's degree from Oklahoma City University where she was a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority. Her U.S. Civil Service career spanned more than 30 years, including two assignments to Iran and working with many who became lifelong friends. She retired from Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center as a supervisor for the Directorate of Distribution. She cherished fellowship with her Cornerstone United Methodist Church family. A fiercely loyal friend and just as fiercely independent, she was an avid sports fan, ace bridge player and ardent animal advocate. She leaves us with a legacy of quietly and selflessly giving from the heart. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leland Lester Schneider; father, Calvin Ray Yowell; mother, Clotile Allen Yowell; brother, Howard Earl Yowell; and cousins James Harold Lyon and Robert Joseph Yowell. She is survived by sister, Kathryn Baker (Bill) of OKC; nephew Allen Baker (Janet) of Gulfport, MS; niece Suzie Kempf (Mike) and family of San Antonio, TX; beloved cousins and dear friends. Funeral services will be held at 10am, Friday, March 23rd, at Cornerstone United Methodist Church, 2604 N. May Ave. Viewing will begin at 9am prior to the service, with a reception following the service. Private interment will take place in Wilson, OK. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Mercy Hospice or any animal rescue organization of your choice.
