Sylvia Mendez

Sylvia Mendez was born in Matanzas Cuba on September 10, 1943. She went to be with her Lord on September 27, 2024. She was a proud American and Oklahoman. 

Sylvia is survived by her husband Tino Mendez, daughters Alexandra Kelley and husband Joe, Tina Rogers and husband Phil Dodd, granddaughters Emma Rogers and Francesca Kelley. She is also survived by sisters Leyda Haley of OKC, Maria Wallace of OKC, Acela Paliotta of Dallas, Belinda Hernandez of Dallas and brother Jose Hernandez of Dallas. Sylvia will also be missed by several other family members and friends. 

Sylvia was a member of St Francis of Assisi parish for 63 years, where she married her husband of 61 years. For Sylvia, important milestones for her family happened at St Francis and we are blessed to have such a supportive community around us. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at St Francis of Assisi Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Catholic Charities.
