The Reverend David Ray Griffin, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and Bible teacher went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 6th, 2016 in the presence of his loving family. Born July 12th, 1951 to Ray Arthur and Sophia Griffin, he is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Marion Lucille, son Daniel David, daughter Melissa Rochelle Lowery and husband Robert, grandson Boone Robert Lowery, mother Sophia Griffin and brother Rex Edward Griffin. A 1969 graduate of Jenks High School, he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from Oklahoma State University in 1973, Master's Degree in Mathematics from the University of Tulsa, and had worked toward his Ph.D. in Mathematical Physics from the University Alabama-Huntsville. A devoted family man, David loved playing with his two kids and after working as a Mathematician for The Boeing Company for 30 years from 1985-2015, he spent the last year of his life in retirement taking great delight in his new grandson. A born-again Christian, David was a member of Village Baptist Church for 22 years serving as an ordained deacon for many of those years and was ordained to the Gospel Ministry in 2015. He also taught Sunday School for 13 years as a gifted Bible teacher. Visitation will be Noon to 8 pm on Monday May 9, 2016 at Smith and Kernke N. May Ave. Funeral services will be 2 pm Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Village Baptist Church. Interment will be 1 pm Wednesday at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow, OK.
