Reverend Paul Gilmore of Oklahoma City passed away on Monday following a long illness. The son of Paul and Gyneth Gilmore, he was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and graduated from St. Gregory's in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Business from the University of Central Oklahoma and received a Master of Divinity degree from the Episcopal Seminary of Kentucky.
Reverend Gilmore served the Episcopal Diocese of Oklahoma as a priest for approximately 40 years. In this capacity, he served many churches including St. Michael's in Lindsey; St. Timothy's in Paul's Valley; St. Philip's in Ardmore; Holy Apostles in Moore; and All Souls', St. James' and St. David's in Oklahoma City. He was also very active in prison ministry and held numerous positions on various diocesan and community committees and boards where he worked with others to establish lasting social outreach programs.
Reverend Gilmore is survived by his wife of 56 years, Elizabeth Gilmore, children Stephanie Treloggen and Stephen Gilmore, and grandchildren Jonathan and Jennifer Treloggen and Michael Gilmore. This tenderhearted man, who served so many, leaves a legacy of love.
Funeral service will be held at All Souls' Episcopal Church, 6400 N. Pennsylvania, Oklahoma City, on Monday, July 20, at 1:00pm. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 13313 N. Kelley, Oklahoma City. Memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Food Bank or Parkinson Foundation.
