Theodore King 'Ted' Mccourry

THEODORE KING MCCOURRY, 85, passed away Aug. 10, 2014. He was born in Oklahoma City, Ok to Kenneth and Norma McCourry. He is survived by and married to Mary Sue McCourry, the love of his life for 62 years. Ted graduated from Classen High School and went on to receive a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Oklahoma. Ted joined the Navy and was the youngest appointed bridge officer in the Navy. After leaving the Navy, Ted worked for H.T.B and Associates, State of Oklahoma Highway Department and eventually retired as the Oklahoma County Engineer. Ted was very active in his community with India Temple Shriners and American Legion. He loved to hunt and fish and most of all cook. Ted is survived by his 3 sons, Bob McCourry of Kingston, OK; Joe McCourry and wife Tamara of The Colony, TX; and Bill McCourry and wife Kathy of Kingston, OK. He has 10 grandkids and 10 great-grandkids. A memorial service will be held at Smith & Kernke Chapel, 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 14, 2014. In lieu of flowers, make donation to India Shrine Hospital Funds, 3601 NW 36th, OKC, OK. 73112 or American Legion Post 21 Scholarship Fund, PO Box 560997, The Colony, TX, 75056.
