Theresa Patricia Coleman was born to James Francis Coleman & Emma Katherine (Portrey) Coleman on March 16, 1924, in Oklahoma City. She attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from St. Joseph's High School in Oklahoma City on May 25, 1941. She worked at John E. Wolf Advertising Company as John's secretary. Theresa married the love of her life, Harold Anthony Henfling, from Winsted, MN, on May 16, 1953, at St. Joseph's Old Cathedral, after first meeting on June 14, 1947. They made their home in Oklahoma City, raised 4 children and were married nearly 63 years at her time of death. The couple was blessed to celebrate their 50th and 60th Anniversaries with family and friends. Theresa loved all her family and friends and would do anything for everyone, having the heart of a saint. She loved dancing to polka and big band music and traveling with her husband and family, including many cruises, trips to Europe, Hawaii, Alaska and 44 other states. Theresa was a member of the Legion of Mary and was actively involved in Catholic Daughters and served as Treasurer, Vice Regent and was chosen Catholic Daughter of the Year. She was also a member of the Catholic Women Activity Club and was chosen for the Woman of Achievement Award in May, 2009. She was a member of the St. Francis Altar Society since 1971, working on committees preparing funeral dinners, counting collection money for many years and also folding the church bulletins. She volunteered at Rosary School while her children attended. She was always willing to lend a hand whenever needed. She was preceded in death by her son, William Mark Henfling on August 29, 1980, from a tragic car accident; her parents, James and Emma Coleman; sister, Rosecelia (Coleman) Henfling and brother, Francis Coleman; parents-in-law, John A. & Regina (Hausladen) Henfling; brothers & sisters-in-law, Alfred Henfling, Mary Jane (Eufinger) Coleman, Michael Henfling, Gregory Henfling and son-in-law, James Keithley who recently died in a tragic car accident on March 21, 2016. Theresa is survived by her husband of the home, Harold; children, Patricia Ann (Henfling) Keithley of Norman, John Francis and Marie (Garcia) Henfling of Albuquerque, NM, Joseph Anthony and Cynthia (Drayer) Henfling of Bosque Farms, NM; Grandchildren, Christopher & Amanda (Teague) Keithley of Moore, Melissa Keithley of Norman, Aaron Henfling of Albuquerque, Amanda (Henfling) and Mark Zuverink of Albuquerque, Allison (Henfling) and James Hemphill of Las Vegas, NV, Kaitlyn (Henfling) and Zach Ochoa of Las Cruces, NM; sister-in-law, Sylvia (Lush) Henfling of Hoffman Estates, IL, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins. A Rosary/Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday, April 19, at 6:30 p.m. at Smith & Kernke at 1401 N.W. 23rd, Oklahoma City with Visitation from Noon to 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 20, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church at 1901 N.W. 18th St., Oklahoma City. Burial will follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Gregory's University in Shawnee, OK, or St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Oklahoma City. The family and friends of Theresa appreciate everyone who attends and thanks them for their prayers, support and condolences.
