Thomas Eugene 'Tom Lasater' Lasater

Tom Lasater went to be with the Lord July 16, 2013. He was born Jan. 26, 1922 in Wagoner County, near Okay, OK, the son of Charles Eugene and Bessie Lasater. He spent most of his growing up years in Hartman, AR, where he graduated high school. He entered the U.S. Army and served in the second wave on Omaha Beach during the invasion of Normandy on D-Day during WWII. He married Geraldine Smith in Hartman, AR, and the couple later moved to Tulsa and then to Oklahoma City where Tom worked as a Draftsman for Gulf Oil Co., which later became Chevron. He retired July 31, 1983. Tom enjoyed fishing. He also loved working in his yard and maintained an immaculate landscape. Tom served on the Planning Commission for the City of The Village and was an active member of Village United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, J.B. and sister, Mildred. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine; son, Bruce Lasater and wife Robin of Palmdale, CA, and their children Jeff and Hailee Shannon; daughter, Neisa Lock and husband Charles of Tulsa and their children, Casey Strutttmann and husband Jeff and their daughter Piper, and Chad Lock and wife Sarah; sister, Juanita Atkins of Texas; and several nieces and nephews. Viewing will be at the funeral home from 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday. Funeral service will be Friday, July 19 at 2 p.m. at Village United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Donations may be made in Tom's memory to BritVil Community Food Pantry, 8717 N Western Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73114, where he volunteered for many years.
