Thomas R. Conroy was born in Sand Springs, Oklahoma on December 27, 1929 to Thomas and Tina Beree Conroy and passed away on Friday December 13, 2019 in Oklahoma City. Tom attended High School in Maud and St. Louis, Oklahoma where he participated in football, track, basketball and band. He attended Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma from 1947-1950. He served four years in the United States Air Force Medical group at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.He met the love of his life, Mille White while at OBU and they married in March of 1951. They returned from San Antonio to Oklahoma in 1954 and Tom graduated from the University of Oklahoma in June, 1956 with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. He was employed by Marathon Oil Company and worked in Chickasha, Michigan, Louisiana and Tulsa.During the 1970's Tom joined Hunt Engineering in Norman, Oklahoma and retired from his long career in Petroleum Engineering at age 82 from Freemont Exploration of Edmond, OK. He was a long time member of First Baptist Church in Norman before moving to OKC and actively attended Crossings Community Church.Tom's intellect and engineering acumen were well-respected by his peers. He loved waterskiing, playing golf and following OU football. He especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in many activities. He was an avid reader and often enjoyed a good book with his dogs curled up beside him.He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Tina, sisters Fern Beatty, Pauline Bocox, Dorothy Lawrence and Betty Davenport. Tom is survived by his wife Mille, daughter Beverly Sears and husband, Kenny, daughter Terri Stadler and husband Karsten, son, Thomas Conroy and wife Cynthia, grandchildren Bryan Sears and wife Kelly and Brenda Moehler of Michigan, Kellen Stadler, Karis Stadler, and Camryn Conroy all of Edmond, great grandchildren, Michael Wood and Stella and Scarlet Sears; and great, great grandson, Oliver Moehler all of Michigan.Tom was a loving husband, Dad, Grandad and Great Grandad. He was admired for his solid faith in Christ, integrity and love for his family. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
