Born to Nguyen Van Loi and Nguyen Thi Cu in Ngoc Chau, North Vietnam, Mrs. Nguyen bravely left her homeland to escape the Communists in 1954, with her husband, Nguyen Van Hach, her mother-in-law, and her sister, Nguyen Thi Ty, to start a new life in Tan Mai, Bien Hoa, South Vietnam where she raised her five children by farming rice, vegetables, and animals. In 1975, with the help of her sister, she again left her home which fell to the Communists. She brought her children to America to give them a better life. She gave ALL of herself to her family, her church, and to God. She loved her children and her grandchildren, the community of Our Lady's Cathedral & St. Andrew's Church. Mother, our Beautiful Mother, the face of God radiates in you. Thank you for your sacrifices, your suffering, your simplicity and devotion to Jesus Christ. We love you more than we were ever able to show. Mrs. Nguyen was preceded in death by her beloved Sister (Aunt Ty), beloved brother (Nguyen Van Thang), and her beloved brothers-and-sisters -in-law.
