Tish Eason passed away on January 9, 2018. Tish was born in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and graduated at the top of her class from Broken Arrow High School. Tish attended the University of Oklahoma earning a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, a Master of Science in Microbiology and in 1979, a Juris Doctorate Degree. After graduation from law school, Tish went to work for the Oklahoma Department of Securities attaining the office of General Counsel. Tish entered into private practice in 1983 where she practiced law in the area of securities and public trust law. Tish and Jack Lawrence served many years as General Counsel for the Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency and upon Jack's retirement from the practice of law, Tish continued to serve as General Counsel for OHFA. In 2002, Tish became the Chancellor of the Catholic Archdiocese of Oklahoma City where she served as Chancellor until her retirement in July of 2017. Tish was the first female and first lay person to serve as Chancellor for the Archdiocese. Tish was a member of many charitable organizations including the OKC Orchestra League where in the 1980's she loved working on the Stewart Awards. Tish was also a member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem. Tish was preceded in death by her mother and father, Lucille Dobbins Denison and Earl Denison. Tish is survived by her husband of thirty-eight years, Douglas Eason, her two sons, Chris of Tulsa and Bryan of Tacoma, Washington, daughter-in-law Michelle of Tulsa, two granddaughters, Isabelle and Olivia and her sister, Brenda Wilson of Dallas. Tish is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Catholic Foundation of Oklahoma - Eason Family Endowment Fund, (P.O. Box 32180, OKC, OK 73123) for the benefit of Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School and Bishop John Carroll Catholic School. There will be an Evening Prayer Vigil for Tish on Sunday at 6:00 PM at The Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help (3214 N. Lake Ave., OKC, OK 73118) with the Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 11:00 AM also at the Cathedral. Tish was loved by all, will be deeply missed and always remembered by her family, friends and all of the many lives she has touched, influenced, and mentored.
