Anthony Warren Babcock was born in Oklahoma City on August 5, 1942. After spending most of his childhood years in Oklahoma, Tony graduated from Northwest Classen High School in 1961. He attended OU University, as well as UCO, earning a Bachelor's degree in Business.
Tony was employed by Kerr-McGee as a manager in Lube Oil Sales on September 15th, 1982. He served in many capacities with Kerr McGee, received honors, trips to Europe, received accolades and sales awards, testified in court for the corporation, and was requested to speak at special conferences for the company. After working at Kerr-McGee Oil for many years, Tony retired at 54 years old to enjoy the sun and the Caribbean - which was his favorite past-time.
He is survived by his wife, Alexa Jade Babcock-- 18 years of marriage, plus before that they were friends for three years when they were introduced by their common friend, Betty. He leaves behind his son, Drew Anthony Babcock of Bartlesville; and Drew's mother Dianne Thornton also of Bartlesville; sister-in-law, Nedra Babcock, of Tulsa; and Stepdaughter Aleisha Bethany Heard & husband Jeremy Heard; two grandchildren - Nichole [Hadley] Heard and Margaret [Maggie] Grace Heard from Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his mom and dad, Mayme and Curtis Babcock of Oklahoma City, as well as his brother, Terry Ellsworth Babcock of Tulsa, all of whom he had a very close relationship with. He and Terry loved to hunt and fish together, & enjoyed taking their dad on special fishing trips to Canada as well as Mexico. He leaves behind many friends from Kerr-McGee as well as many dear friends he enjoyed from his childhood and college years in Oklahoma City.
He fought cancer and health issues for many years. He was the most fun and loving husband, father, and son. He truly tried to live life to the fullest as well as he loved the Lord and Christ. He was a true Believer. He attended and was a member of the Crossings Community Church in Oklahoma City.
He will be sorely missed by all of his loved ones - but we will see him again someday, we know.
