Tony James Teague was born May 9, 1946 in Fort Worth, TX and passed peacefully at home March 10, 2018 after a fight with cancer. He grew up in Oklahoma City and attended Harding High School. After high school he joined the Air Force and served in Vietnam. He took coursework at Central State University (now UCO) when he returned from the Air Force. Later in life he earned a bachelor's degree from Southern Nazarene University.
He had many jobs over the years but his most favorite was working for Carl Albert State College as an assessment specialist at Oklahoma County DHS 55-C office. It filled him with purpose and gratification until he retired around 2010.
He was married to his soulmate and best friend Kathy (Kathleen) for 24+ years. They enjoyed spending time at Tony's favorite place - Lake Murray whether it was at a cabin or on the houseboat they owned for five years. Tony's 1965 Chrysler Ski Boat, "Little Red", was his pride and joy. He looked forward every spring to getting it lake ready. He loved to water ski and spent some time as a competitive skier. Another pride and joy was their mixed terrier "Hoppy" that Kathy brought him back from a girls' day trip.
Tony was preceded in death by his mother and step-father Jimmie and George Braun, his brother Lindy. He is survived by his wife, Kathy (Kathleen), his cousins Dixie Deaton (Brian) of Blanchard, Nubbin Sullivan (Judy) of Ratliff City, Jerry Trout (Patsy) of Monroe LA, and Vicki Felton of Norman. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Elaine McNett of OKC, brothers-in-law David Quinn (Stephanie) of OKC, Dr. Joe Quinn (Dr. Chelly) of Sunnyvale, TX; niece Jill Tuttle (Tanner) of Frisco, TX, nephews Clay (Caley) Quinn of Dallas, and Josh Quinn of Sunnyvale, TX. and many other friends and relatives.
Tony was so proud of his Cousin Dixie's granddaughter, Taylor Burt (daughter of Scarlet and Rodney Burt) who is soon going to be a doctor!
A special thanks to Crossroads Hospice for the great care provided during the last week.
