Truman A. Billingsley CWO4, USAF (Ret.), age 89, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2012 in San Antonio. Truman was the youngest of six children born to Lillian Harvey and Peyton Roy Billingsley on March 31, 1923 in Bee County, Texas. He began his career in 1940 at Camp Normoyle and retired after 26 years from the Office of the Vice Chief of Staff, USAF, at the Pentagon. During WWII he served in the Central Pacific area. He served in the Embassies in Rome, Italy and Tel Aviv, Israel prior to his assignment to the Pentagon. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked as District Financial Manager for RCA Computer Systems Division, Chief of Procurement for the State of Florida and as Manager in Lincoln County, New Mexico. Truman was preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Margaret Cleo. He is survived by his daughter, Marcia and husband, John Foster; granddaughter Lillian and husband, Dr. James Cail, III; great-granddaughters Elizabeth 'E.J.' and Cleo; special friend, Gladys Zinsmeister; and many nieces and nephews and their children whom he loved.
