Vera Holt (Shawareb) died unexpectedly in Bentonville, Arkansas on March 20th, 2017 at the age of 41.
Vera is survived by her two sons, Michael (11) and Daniel Holt (7); her father, Haidar Shawareb of Oklahoma City and his wife, Dalal Hamwi. She is also survived by her three siblings: brother Hana Shawareb and his wife, Tiffany Shawareb and their 3 children, sister Lara Shawareb, and sister Tara Wilson and her husband, Derrick Wilson and their 3 children, all of Oklahoma City. Vera is further survived by many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and many friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, Nisreen Shawareb, of Oklahoma City.
Vera was born on September 9th, 1975 in Chicago, Illinois to Haidar and Nisreen Shawareb. Nisreen was one of ten children which allowed Vera to be surrounded by a loving family even before her three siblings came along. Although she was one of many throughout her life, she never struggled to captivate those sharing a room with her. A contagious laugh and boisterous personality left those she met always wanting more and, even as she encountered roadblocks, she stayed true to herself.
Vera relocated, along with her family, to Oklahoma City where she attended Putnam City North High School until she graduated in 1993 then went on to earn her Bachelors in Psychology and Respiratory Therapy from The University of Oklahoma. She later married and proudly welcomed her two sons into the world. Vera loved her boys immensely and wanted them to grow into kind and happy young men. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
