Veronica Kay Stebbins

Veronica (KAY) Stebbins passed away peacefully on March 18th, 2025, in her forever home, surrounded by her family. Kay was born on June 13th, 1963, in Abilene, Texas where she was raised. She was a graduate of Cooper High School where she was a proud member of the Cooper Cougerettes cheer squad. After graduating, Kay began working at Saint James child development center. While working, Kay attended McMurry University where she graduated with her associate's degree in early childhood education. She worked with preschool age children for over 10 years before moving into a job with the Abilene independent school district where she worked for 9 years and made many longtime friends. Kay had a passion for working with children and helping them thrive in their environment. During her time in Abilene Kay became a mother of her own; giving birth to her two sons Brandon and Matthew. Kay was a loving and supportive mom to her two boys. Kay met Dale Stebbins in Abilene, TX. They were happily married for 20 years. In 2009 Dale and Kay decided to make the big move to Oklahoma, where they have made a home and created many happy memories. In 2016 God gifted Kay her first grandchild, a granddaughter who she instantly fell in love with. Three years later she was blessed to add a grandson into the family. She loved them both and enjoyed watching them grow, giving them encouragement any chance she got. Kay enjoyed gardening and watching her soap operas daily with a cup of coffee in hand alongside Dusty & Rendi “The Puppy Girls”. Kay enjoyed traveling as well, often making the trip to Montana to visit her grandchildren. Kay was a fighter and proud cancer survivor. She was 5 years in remission and every year would remind us of how thankful she was to have won her battle. This was a great point of pride for Kay. Kay was a wonderful woman who loved her family fiercely and gave to everyone around her. She was kind, caring, and selfless and will be sorely missed, but always remembered with love and fondness.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents Melvin and (Betty) Angley, and her sisters Vicki Harvey, Darlene Boone, Becky Fauvion.

Kay was survived by her loving husband, Dale Stebbins; her son Brandon Fulcher, his wife Lydia Fulcher and their two kids Remington Kay and Marcus Paul; her son Matthew Fulcher and his Girlfriend Sara Jean Warming; her son Jacob Stebbins and daughter Shaelee Stebbins; her sisters Tammy Calhoon, Brenda Hendricks, and Carolyn (Stan) Owen and many nieces & Nephews.
