Vesta Maxine Gilley Scholes was born on July 23, 1920 in Cherokee, KS, to Enoch and Cecil Gilley. She was raised by her maternal grandparents. She passed away on August 31, 2010 in Edmond, OK. Vesta was a dedicated wife and mother and her pursuit of all things beautiful will be her legacy to future generations. She was preceded in death by her husband George Aymer and is survived by her daughter Pamela Kaye Scholes Green, son George Kimberly Scholes, granddaughter Jessica Scholes and grandson Jonathan Green. Services will be held in the Mausoleum at Memorial Park Cemetery located at the intersection of Memorial Road and Kelley Ave. in Oklahoma City at 1 P.M. on Saturday, September 4. Come-and-go visitation will be held at Smith and Kernke on Friday, September 3 from 9A.M. -6 P.M. All attendees are invited to join the family for a meal at their home immediately following the cemetery service to celebrate Vesta's life. The family would also wish to thank the caregivers at Bradford Village for their tireless attention. Memorials may be given in Vesta's name to the Oklahoma Regional Food Bank.
