Virginia Elizabeth Straughn

Virginia Elizabeth Specht Straughn, was born in OKC to Louis and Bertha Whelan Specht and passed away at Mercy Hospital in OKC. She grew up on a farm outside of Piedmont, OK and attended Piedmont schools. She married Fred M. Straughn on Oct. 22, 1946. Virginia had many joys in life including watching her 3 sons play baseball, baking her famous pumpkin and meringue pies and attending OU football games with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, her parents, brother, Eugene Specht, and brother-in-law, Leamon Johnson. Virginia is survived by sister, Mary L. Johnson, her sons and their wives, Fred L. Straughn and Linda of Grandbury, TX, Robert L. Straughn and Debbie of OKC, James P. Straughn and Karel of Nashville, TN, five grandchildren, Chris and wife, Leigh of Dallas, TX, Jamie Straughn Buemi and husband, Paul of Coatesvillie, PA, Jonathan Straughn and wife, Lane of Norman, OK, David Straughn of Bethany, OK, and Shannon Straughn of Nashville, TN. Eight great-grandchildren also survive her, Walter Straughn, Sam Straughn, Harry Straughn and Callum Straughn of Dallas, TX, Allison Buemi and Aaron Buemi of Coatesville, PA, and Olivia Straughn and Lilly Straughn of Norman, OK.
