Virginia I. Gray

Virginia Anastasia Ingram Gray passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 23, 2017. She was born in Fall River, MA, January 8, 1925, was raised in Bristol, Rhode Island, where she graduated from Colt Memorial High School and attended Katharine Gibbs College. During WWII, she met the love of her life, a US Navy sailor from Muskogee, OK, Loring A. Gray, Sr., and they shared 67 years together. She was the most loving, caring, involved mother who served as Cub Scout Leader and PTA president. She also served as president of the Garden Club and was involved in Book Club, New Friends Club, and Friends of the Library. She was a hospital volunteer in Muskogee. Virginia was honored with a lifetime membership in Women of the Church, Presbyterian Church, U.S. She loved sewing, gardening, reading and traveling. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lena Ingram, brother, George Ingram Jr., and husband, Loring. She is survived by her seven children, Mary Millar (John) of Green Valley, AZ, Judge Loring Gray Jr. (Virginia) of Albany, GA, Judy Robinson of Oklahoma City, Tom Gray (Cyndee) of Gig Harbor, WA, Peter Gray (Jane) of Edmond, OK, Paul Gray (Pat) of Fort Worth, TX, and Susan Melaugh (John) of Tulsa, OK; 12 grandchildren, Kyle Millar (Erica) of Norman, OK, Kerry Millar (Kristin) of Austin, TX, Russell Gray (Lynn) of Albany, GA, Liz Barfield (Matt) of Norman, OK, Tyler Robinson of Garland, TX, Stephanie Shoemaker (Josh) of Shoreline, WA, James Gray (Anna) of Beaverton, OR, Ryan Gray of Seattle, WA, Dr. Philip Gray (Allison) of Edmond, Dr. Kelly Koren (David) of Lorton, VA, Lara Gray of Ningbo, China, Corie Melaugh of Oklahoma City; great grandchildren, Sam, Sawyer, Grayson Millar and Olivia Reid, Emma and Pierce Millar, Ansley, Will and Lilia Gray, Elise Shoemaker, Adelynn and Nathaniel Gray, Cecilia Gray, Christopher and Caitlin Koren. Visitation will be Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 5 – 7 pm at Smith & Kernke-N. May. A memorial service will be held Friday, July 28, 2017 at 2 pm at Brill Chapel at Epworth Villa, 14901 N. Pennsylvania Ave. Contribution may be made in Virginia's memory to Indian Nations P.W. (Presbyterian Women) in care of Covenant Presbyterian Church, 10100 Ridgeview Drive, Oklahoma City, OK 73120, reference Scholarship Fund.
