Von Eugene Lofland passed away in Oklahoma City, OK, on September 22, 2017, following a brief illness. He was born January 27, 1959, in Beaver, OK, and grew up in Liberal, KS. Von earned his under graduate and Juris Doctorate degrees from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa. He practiced law for a brief period before returning to school and earning a Master of Science in Telecommunications and Management from Oklahoma State University. At the time of his death, Von was the Communications Specialist for People's Cooperative in Ada, OK. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed listening to music and playing his guitar. Von is survived by his dad, Gene Lofland; sister, Kathi Dezort and husband Pat; his fiancée, Deann Boone Rassatt; two nephews, Zachary and Timothy Dezort; two nieces, Jessica Christian and husband Daniel, and Alyssa Dezort and fiancé Keola Dacalio; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Funeral Service will be held 3pm Tuesday, Sept. 26 at Smith & Kernke Chapel, 14624 N. May Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73134. A graveside service will be at 1pm Wednesday at Haskell County Cemetery in Sublette, KS, where he will be laid to rest next to his mom, Voralee, who preceded him in death in 1996.
