Wanda Rose (Clark) Hughes-Ray, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many, passed away April 23, 2022, just shy of her 94th birthday, with her loving family by her side. She was born April 30, 1928 to Clarence and LoEva (Goss) Clark in Tupelo, Oklahoma. Wanda married Richard E. Hughes on April 26, 1952. She earned an Associate Degree to be a Paralegal Assistant from the University of Oklahoma at the age of 45. She worked for several law firms in OKC, ending her career at the Derryberry Law Firm. On April 20, 2002, Wanda married William Ray. William preceded her in death in 2019. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dr. Orville Verdell Clark and sister, Delores Clark. Wanda leaves behind two children, son, Mitchell Hughes of Mustang, OK and his daughter, Dr. Tiffany Rager and husband Zachary, their children, Letty and Lyndon OKC; daughter, Alison Alfonso and husband Anthony and their son, Matthew Robertson of OKC; three nieces, Heidi Hughes, Jill Thieman and Ashley Dalton; one nephew, Randall Clark; their families and a host of loving friends. All will miss her deeply. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM Saturday, April 30, 2022 at The Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, with a reception following in the Connor Center.
