Warren A. Neal, Jr. made a new plan and hopped on the bus; don't need to discuss much. He passed away on February 11, 2015. A retired professor at Oklahoma City Community College with a career spanning over 30 years, Warren challenged and inspired countless students and colleagues as he taught courses in English Composition, Philosophy, Greek Mythology, Logic, and History of Science. A published author with tremendous breadth of knowledge, his passion for learning made him a role model for all who knew him at OCCC. Warren previously served in the United States Air Force, and was stationed in Da Nang, Vietnam. In his personal life, Warren's passions extended far beyond his intellectual pursuits. His creative spirit was evident in his exploration of writing, photography, and most of all, music. An active rock and roll performer in his early years, Warren collected a wide variety of recorded music, and enjoyed playing guitar and singing at home. He also engaged in regular battles of wit and persistence with his beloved Border Collie, Hitchcock. Those closest to Warren knew him as deeply emotional, fiercely loyal, highly intelligent, with numerous interests and abilities. His impact on this world has been profound, and he is dearly missed by his many friends and family. Warren is survived by his wife, Sherry; son, Christopher; stepdaughter, Lynn Robertson, her husband Lindsay, and his children John and Eliza Robertson; stepson, Jason Taylor, his wife, Memory, and their children, Jason, Max, and Atticus; sisters Vivian DeMerchant and Marcy Boyce; and his mother, Muriel Bransfield. He is preceded in death by his father, Warren A. Neal, Sr.; and his grandmother, Helen G. Neal. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home, 1401 NW 23rd St. in Oklahoma City. All are welcome, and there will be a fellowship gathering afterward at a location to be announced. Final interment will be at Bethany Cemetery, NW 63rd & Rockwell.
