Warrenetta M. Hodgson

Warrenetta (Yaryan) Hodgson went to be with Jesus on June 13, 2012. Warrenetta was born in Mustang, OK, on August 28, 1922, eight months after her father Warren Brindley was killed. Her mother Ethel Brindley raised Warrenetta and her four sisters (Naomi Woody, Esther Brindley, Frances Gardner Thompson, and Rachel White) through the hard times of the Depression. She graduated from Classen High School in 1940 and also attended Oklahoma City University. During World War II, Warrenetta married Jim Yaryan and they had two daughters, Leslie Parks and Nancy Fortier. Warrenetta was widowed after 54 wonderful years of marriage to Jim. She was surprised and delighted to receive a call several years later from Joe Hodgson, a college friend who was also widowed. Warrenetta and Joe's relationship blossomed into marriage in 2005. What a gift Warrenetta was given to live the end of her life in such a sincerely loving and trusting relationship as she and Joe had. Warrenetta is preceded in death by her mother, father, four sisters, and first husband Jim. She is survived by husband Joe Hodgson, daughters Leslie Parks and husband Bill of Oklahoma City and Nancy Fortier and husband Phil of North Richland Hills, Texas. Warrenetta is also survived by granddaughter Lisa Summers and husband Scott of Oklahoma City, grandson Chad Fortier and wife Laura and their children Caden and Claire of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and grandson Brian Fortier and wife Whitney and their son Eli of Hurst, Texas. Special thanks are given to Charlotte Petties, Danyelle Henderson, Mary Dobbs, Judy Lee, and Kim Smith for their kind and devoted care. Viewing will be Friday, June 15, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Smith & Kernke. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Metropolitan Baptist Church, 7201 W. Britton Road. Burial will be in Mustang Cemetery.
