William Clay Ferguson, Jr.

William Clay Ferguson, Jr., born May 24, 1961 in Tulsa, OK., passed away on May 2, 2018 in Asheville, NC. Ferguson sold commercial heating and air-conditioning equipment as general manager of the Oklahoma City operations of Hambrick-Ferguson, Inc. William was a proud member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, Inc. (ASHRAE), and served as the Central Oklahoma Chapter President in 1993 and '94. A natural athlete, Bill excelled at sports from an early age, first with little league baseball and later, on the basketball team of Hefner Jr. High. At Putnam City High School, he lettered in basketball and graduated in the Class of '79. He later served as assistant coach for the women's basketball teams at Redlands Community College and St. Gregory's University, and was a loyal supporter of O.U. football and Thunder basketball. As an adult, he continued to play team sports and had a passion for travel, movies and golf. He is preceded in death by his father, William Clay Ferguson, Sr., and his two zany, beloved cats, Spanky and Darla. He is survived by: his mother, Sandra Louise Ferguson; his brother Michael, brother David and sister Janet; nieces Erin Kim and Adrien Kerksick, and their mother, Lesa, along with Erin's spouse Jong and children Avery and Declan; and Adrien's spouse Chad and children Camden and Emery. A memorial service will be held at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home on Friday, June 15 at 2:00pm. He will rest among family at Rose Hill Burial Park in Oklahoma City.
