William Dale Reneau Sr. "Dale" passed away peacefully on September 18, 2017, at his home surrounded by family. He was born April 15, 1931, in Hobart, OK. He graduated High School in Sedan, OK in a class of three people. He received his Bachelor's degree, and later his Juris Doctorate of Law at the University of Oklahoma. Dale served as a Captain in the Army JAG Corps. He was married 28 years to Barbara Joan until her death in 1992 with whom he raised their four sons. He has been married to his wife Sandra since 1994, and they have continued to be beloved parents and grandparents to their extended families. Dale had a distinguished legal career that began in the early 1960's and continued as a senior partner at the law firm of Fenton, Fenton, Smith, Reneau and Moon in Oklahoma City. His career included being named to the American College of Trial Lawyers, membership in the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel, and being involved in the County, State, and Federal Bar Associations. Dale was an active member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church wherein he led weekly Sunday School classes. He also served the United Methodist Organization in many different capacities. He was very active in the Oklahoma Republican Party, Toastmasters, and many other civic organizations. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara, his parents, and his brother, Donald. He is survived by his wife, Sandra of OKC; four sons, W. Dale Reneau Jr. of OKC, Russell and wife Jean of Chicago, Roger and wife Kathryn of OKC, and Richard of Atlanta; two brothers, Calvin and wife Ann, and Terry and wife Jelta; sister-in-law, Verlyn; 15 grandchildren, John (Rebecca), Kelsey (Ramsey), W. Dale III (Ashley), Victory, Cindie, Christie, Kimberly, Olympia, Ashlyne, Sydnie, Julianne, Barbara, Hannah, Parker and Carson; seven great-grandchildren; his four step-children Debbie, Belinda, Melanie, and Mark and their spouses and children; and numerous nieces and nephews. Viewing will be at Smith & Kernke on N. May from 9 am - 8 pm Thursday, with the family present to receive friends from 6 - 8 pm. The funeral will be 1 pm Friday, September 22, 2017, at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 222 NW 15th Street.
