William R. "Bill" Fennell, born February 13, 1932 in Augusta KS, passed away January 28, 2011, in Oklahoma City, OK. A graduate of Wichita State University in petroleum geology, Bill worked as a geologist for several large corporations before becoming an independent geologist. Bill's hobbies included flying, fishing and coaching little league girls' softball and basketball. Bill had such a passion for the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) and established the Riverside Squadron for CAP, volunteering thousands of hours to CAP as well as to the Latino Community Development Agency (LCDA). He is preceded in death by both parents, a sister, brother, and son-in-law. Bill was a kind and loving husband to Patricia Fennell for 26 years; a devoted father to Cindy Fennell Denton, Chris Fennell, Pamela Fennell Weibel and Lisa Fennell Sherman and a caring stepfather to Bruce Edwards and Lee Edwards. He is also survived by grandchildren, TJ and Tommy Denton, Michelle Wilbur, Kristin and Sherry Fennell, Taylor and Alec Weibel, Cayde and Madison Edwards, Alberto and Riley Edwards, one great-grandchild, Liam Wilbur, one sister and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Mercy Hospital and Okla. Heart Hospital for their kindness during Bill's illness.
