He was a lifelong member of Crown Heights United Methodist Church where he enjoyed teaching Sunday School. He later became an active member of St. Elijah Orthodox Christian Church. As a lover of literature, he thoroughly enjoyed reading and writing short stories and plays. In retirement, he traveled the world with his wife and friends and spent time with his three children, three sons-in-law and nine grandchildren.
