Yola Joan Sapp was born November 16, 1938 in Bakersfield California to Evelyn Kathryn and JT Fincher. She was welcomed into Heaven on June 15, 2021. Joni was a precious angel adored by her family and friends and will be missed terribly. Joni lived a short time in California after her birth and came back to Oklahoma with her mother to live on the family farm in Willow, Oklahoma. She had wonderful memories of living with her grandparents on the farm. When she was in early grade school, she and her mother moved to Oklahoma City. She was enrolled in Mount Saint Mary's boarding school. She loved her years living with the Nun's and spoke fondly of it her whole life. In high school, she and her mom moved to Midwest City.Sometime after graduating she met the love of her life, Bob Sapp, on a blind date. They were married at First Baptist Church Midwest City on May 31, 1958. They enjoyed life to the fullest traveling often to their favorite spot in Grand Lake, Colorado. They have been incredible parents to their two children- Kelli, born January 21, 1960 and Scott, born November 8, 1964. Joni was an incredible wife, mother, grandmom and friend. She enjoyed life to the fullest and always had a fun loving spirit and a positive outlook! She loved and cared for her family like no other. Even when going through trials with her health over the last few years, she was always more concerned about those around her than herself. Over the years, she made so many life long friends. She loved her friends at Kelham Baptist Church and enjoyed her years as a sponsor at Falls Creek for the Kelham youth group. She also made so many new friends when she began working at Harold's Clothing Store. We can't imagine life without our sweet angel, but rejoice in the fact that she is resting in the arms of her Savior and Praise Jesus, we will see her again! "And then one day I'll cross the riverI'll fight life's final war with painAnd then, as death gives way to vict'ryI'll see the lights of glory and I'll know he reignsBecause he livesI can face tomorrowBecause he livesAll fear is goneBecause I know he holds the futureAnd life is worth the livingJust because he lives" She is survived by her devoted husband Bob, who has cared for her with compassion and love thru her illness.
